FAQ's

Choosing and Sending Your Photos
  • Email or text photos (upon receiving a phone call from Amanda Pirot) within 24 hours of submitting order form.
  • In general, use color photos with highest resolution (minimum 100KB) and natural daylight (not overexposed or underexposed). If the photos are not perfect, I may still be able to work with them. Best to send 1 “good” photo and 1-2 others to show coloring.    
  • For people portraits, choose a flattering photo of the person the way the person (gift recipient) wants to see themselves, or if the painting is for you, how you want to see or remember yourself (at a specific age).
  • All watercolor portraits are on 300 LB cold-press archival paper, unless otherwise specified.
  • Background Color - generally, a background solid (bright) color will be selected by the artist to compliment the colors of the subject/s. You may state background color preferences, brights vs. neutrals, or colors NOT to use, i.e. purple or green. 
  Specific Sizes 
 All portrait dimensions are unframed (the size of  painting), unless otherwise noted.
  • Standard Size Pet 8” x 10” Vertical (Bust Portrait - from the face to top of the chest)
    • (1 Pet) - Face-forward (eye level), clear view of eyes, nose, mouth/snout, top of chest, pet collar
  • Standard Size Person 9" X12" Vertical  Face-forward (eye level) clear view of eyes, nose, mouth, neck, top of chest
    •  If you prefer the person be painted wearing a specific color or item, send a pic of this 
    • My insignia is a small heart. If you prefer your portrait without a heart, indicate this.
  • ​Medium Size 12 X16 Vertical 
    • (1 Pet) Face forward (eye level), clear view of eyes, nose, mouth/snout, chest and the full body. Preferably standing pose 
  • Medium Size 16 X 12 Horizontal
    • (1 Pet AND 1 Person) - Can use two (or more) separate photos (must be clear). Face forward (clear view of eyes, nose or snout, mouth, and chest)
  • Large Size 16 X 20 Vertical  
    • (1 Pet) Face-forward, eye level (clear view of eyes, nose, mouth, neck, top of chest, and full body)
    • You may ALSO add to this 16X20" your  pet's  favorite toys or blanket (inquire on added pricing) .

  • Framing - Framing is a time consuming process and is very personal, especially given that people have a painting in mind for a certain room in their home or office. For that reason, I do not provide framing, though I can recommend local frame shops. You can also look on my website for ways to consider framing.
  • Promotions - For holidays and throughout the year, I offer several promotions.  If you use a promotion code for a particular product, indicate it in the Order Now form. 
Gifts and Gift Certificates
  • Gift Certificates are a great option (especially for the pet lover who has everything OR for a loved one who has recently lost their pet). Gift certificates can be purchased for a variety of sizes and options. (See options).
  • If a gift recipient is given a gift certificate for a specific size, they can opt to order a larger size, and pay the difference. 
  • Gifts sent directly to the gift recipient are wrapped in a gift-ready plastic archival sleeve with an artist bio on the back.
Turnaround / Shipping / Delivery
  • Turnaround Time - Generally 3-4 weeks from the time of receiving good quality photos. It may take up to 6 weeks if ordering during high peak times, such as: Christmas, Valentines Day, Mother’s or Father’s Day.
  • Express Service or Regular - Generally, USPS United States Postal Service 2-day service is used and customer is charged $10-20 (depending on package size). Express shipping is an option, and fee will be determined by USPS. 
  • Which countries do you ship? Portraits may be shipped throughout the U.S and Canada, as well as to countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and UK. 
Prices and Payment

  • Method of Payment  We gladly accept Pay Pal, Venmo, Cash, Cashiers check, Credit card (Visa, MC, AMEX). 
  • Charge for Modifications  There is no charge for (minor) modifications. However, please understand when using watercolor, you can only add color. It is difficult to subtract color.  
  • Pay 50% Non-Refundable deposit. Pay 50% balance once painting is delivered (and you are satisfied). This is to ensure that if the person changes their mind once the painting has been started or completed, the artist’s time is partially covered. 
  • No refunds.  It is the artist's job to ensure that the painting meets your expectation. Please communicate.
